sometimes.
a little steam, a slow pour, and a coffee puck with a flair for drama. day two of after latte.

the puck came out looking almost too pleased with itself. round. tidy. a tiny coffee achievement, ready for its close-up.
then came the squeeze.
life crumbles, sometimes. today, it had a little help.
that is the small drama in this second after latte moment: a spent espresso puck, a deliberate squeeze, and the neat circle giving way to loose grounds. a very short performance from something that had already done its morning job.
there is time for the quieter part, too. steam rises from the milk in a green mug. espresso pours into the foam, carrying that caramel color through the white. the pour gets its moment before the puck gets the dramatic ending.
it is easy to hurry through those little changes. milk, steam, coffee, done. but slow the sequence down and there is plenty to watch: the curl of steam, the changing surface, the shape that holds until a hand says otherwise.
no grand lesson required. sometimes a coffee puck is allowed to be a little theatrical.
so stay for the steam. watch the pour. give the crumbs their closing scene.
